Bid Manager

South-East UK (m/f/d) 

The Bid Manager is responsible for leading and managing the tender process from the initial stages through to the final submission. This includes coordinating resources, creating proposals, ensuring compliance with customer/prospect requirements and ensuring that all submissions are submitted on time and within budget. 

This role reports into the Regional Sales Manager UK & Ireland. 

Your Responsibilities: 

 Bid Planning and Strategy: 

  •  Analyse current customer and prospect requirements to deliver a competitive and winning proposal 

  • Coordinate with internal departments (e.g. sales, marketing, contracts and technical teams) to gather necessary inputs for the bid 

  • Assist sales team in field in the pre-tender/relevant sales stage to drive the Total Value Solution when required with a view to drive win/retention rates and areas of innovation for the entire Tosoh portfolio 

 Proposal Development 

  • Search relevant tender databases to identify opportunities

  • Collate & review tender documentation

  • Draft, edit, and finalize tender documentation, ensuring clarity, consistency, and adherence to customer/prospect specifications

  • Collaborate with technical experts and senior management to ensure the tender is comprehensive, concise and meets all requirements

  • Address any clarifications during the tender process

  • Ensure all proposals are submitted in a professional and timely manner

  • Work with the sales team outside of the traditional tender process to assist with future bids in areas of innovation

 Bid Review, Compliance and Post Bid-Process 

  • Conduct internal reviews of bid documents to ensure accuracy, quality and compliance 

  • Ensure that all necessary legal, regulatory and contractual obligations are met and reviewed, flagging any risk when and where required 

  • Participate in post-bid reviews to evaluate the success and challenges of the bidding process 

  • Implement feedback and lessons learned to improve future bid submissions to adjust business strategy as required 

  • Submit KPI reports in a timely manner with the wider team 

  • Perform face-to-face business review meetings as required 

 Continuous Improvement 

  • Stay up to date with industry trends and bidding best practices (e.g. BIVDA)

  • Recommend improvements to pre-tender/tender/post tender processes and systems to enhance efficiency and effectiveness 

Your Profile:

  • Bachelor in Science or related field 

  • At least 3–5 years of experience in bid management, proposal/tender writing, or a related field. Experience will take precedence over education 

  • Track record of results when operating outside a ‘comfort-zone’ and bringing innovative solutions to drive sales 

  • Previous experience and knowledge in IVDR HbA1c, Haemoglobinopathies and Immunoassay is advantageous 

  • Knowledge of NHS, Private and Academia facility procurement and decision making structures is advantageous 

  • Previous sales experience is a plus 

  • Fluent in English 

  • This position is home and field based 

  • Ability to travel throughout entire UK and ROI with overnight stays routinely and occasionally outside of the UK.

    • Ability to use a sales database (Salesforce, SAP etc) or equivalent 

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills 

    • Excellent organizational and project management skills 

    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines 

    • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality 

    • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment 

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
